On March 8, 2025 student Nguyen Mai Bao Tran, class 23DN112, majoring in Japanese Studies from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, LHU won Consolation prize at 8th Southern Universities Japanese Speech Contest which took place at VNUHCM-University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The Contest themed "Transportation" was hosted by the Faculty of Japanese Studies under the VNUHCM-University of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with Komaru Transportation Foundation and Fukuyama City University. The Contest received nearly 100 entries from several universities, colleges, and institutes in the Southern region. After the preliminary round, 14 best contestants were selected for the final round.

With her confidence and impressive Japanese proficiency, Nguyen Mai Bao Tran won the Consolation prize at the final round. This is not only a proud achievement for Bao Tran personally but also a testament to the quality of the Japanese Studies program at the University. Notably, she previously participated in another Japanese speech contest.

Bao Tran has an excellent academic record and is always eager to participate in Japanese language academic clubs and specialized competitions.
