LHU to inaugurate STEAMHub, strengthening University–Business–Community connections

On September 19, 2026, at the Center of Scientific Research and Application, LHU, in collaboration with STEAM for Vietnam and On Semiconductor Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Onsemi), will hold the opening ceremony of the STEAMHub Library. The STEAMHub is a modern, open, and hands-on STEAM learning space for university students, high school students, and the local community.

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to develop rapidly, keeping up with new knowledge, developing creative thinking, and improving self-learning skills are becoming increasingly important. Teachers and students also need more accessible learning opportunities within their local communities. In response to this need, the STEAMHub model will gradually develop AI training programs to support the community.

A 124-square-meter space for science and technology experiences

With an area of 124 square meters and a total investment of approximately VND 700 million, STEAMHub is equipped with facilities for exploring science and technology, along with specialized hands-on areas. The space can accommodate around 40 people per session.

Designed as an open learning space, STEAMHub allows learners not only to access knowledge but also to experience, practice, conduct research, and develop ideas related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). It also encourages self-learning, creative thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Practical benefits for LHU students and high school students in Dong Nai

For LHU students, STEAMHub provides a space for learning, scientific research, hands-on experience in their fields of study, and the development of technology projects.

For high school students, STEAMHub offers opportunities to explore science and technology through hands-on activities. These experiences can help students better understand different fields of study, career options, and the skills required by the future labor market.

STEAMHub was established with the goal of becoming a technology library for the community, expanding access to knowledge and technology experiences for students and anyone interested in learning and creating. It provides a space to share resources, connect learners, and develop initiatives that can benefit the community.

Through STEAM education, learners are encouraged to develop interdisciplinary thinking, learn through practice, and apply their knowledge to real-life problems.

With a spirit of sharing knowledge and creating together, STEAMHub aims to make education and technology more accessible to the community, giving people more tools to turn ideas into useful solutions for everyday life. Expanding learning opportunities and gradually building technology skills can also contribute to developing a workforce with stronger innovation capabilities, helping Vietnam take a more active role in global scientific and technological development.

A triple-partnership model involving University, Business, and Community

The LHU–STEAM for Vietnam–Onsemi collaboration represents a partnership between a university, a technology company, and a community education organization, with a shared goal of promoting STEAM education and developing a high-quality workforce.

The partnership also has a strong local connection. onsemi's manufacturing facility in Vietnam is located in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, in the same city as LHU. This creates favorable conditions for long-term cooperation between the university and the company in developing a local technical workforce.

Under this partnership, the University provides the learning environment and organizes educational activities. STEAM for Vietnam contributes STEAM education methods and expands learning opportunities for young people. The Business supports technology, equipment, and practical career-oriented guidance.

Towards a STEAM experience ecosystem

Through STEAMHub, the partners aim to build a STEAM learning and experience ecosystem where high school students can explore science and technology and develop an interest in these fields, while university students can continue their research and turn ideas into practical projects. The Hub also strengthens the connection between education and the workforce needs of businesses.

In the initial stage, the partners plan to develop AI training programs for teachers and students in Dong Nai, before gradually expanding to other fields. The programs will promote continuous and accessible learning through different formats and learning materials.

Following the opening ceremony, STEAMHub will continue to operate regularly, with planned activities including workshops, clubs, and STEAM days. These activities will give students opportunities to practice, showcase their projects, and learn from one another.

With the direction “Learning through experience – Creating from practice – Connecting with the future”, STEAMHub is expected to become a notable space for STEAM education at LHU, contributing to the development of young people with scientific thinking, creativity, and the ability to adapt to rapid technological changes.
