Long Khanh Fruit Festival – A Foundation for Local Tourism Development

Within the framework of the Long Khanh Fruit Festival 2024, held from 12 to 16 June 2024, PhD Nguyen Van Tan – Head of The Faculty of Administration International Economics, Lac Hong University – participated in this significant event. The festival attracted a large number of visitors from both within and outside the province to visit, experience, and enjoy the region’s specialty fruits.

In 2024, the festival lasted five days with numerous vibrant and attractive cultural, artistic, sports, culinary, and entertainment activities. A highlight of the festival was the City’s Fruit and OCOP Product Honoring Week (One Commune One Product Program), aimed at honoring and promoting high-quality local agricultural products. Notably, the festival also featured more than 20 connection and visitation points, providing access to nearly 100 fruit orchards during the harvest season. Visitors were able to experience “hand-picking fruits directly from the branches,” offering unique and engaging experiences.

According to Nguyen Van Tan, participating in the festival not only provided the Faculty with valuable information to support the tourism development project in Long Khanh but also created opportunities for networking and collaboration with industry partners. The Faculty of Administration International Economics has been and continues to undertake an important project on tourism development in Long Khanh City. This project focuses on researching and implementing solutions to improve tourism quality, develop orchard-based eco-tourism, and enhance the promotion of the locality’s distinctive agricultural products.

Through participation in the Fruit Festival, the Faculty collected substantial valuable information and ideas to contribute to the development of a sustainable tourism strategy for the locality. The information and practical experience gained from the festival will be incorporated into research and analysis to refine the project, ensuring its feasibility and effectiveness in developing tourism in Long Khanh.

The Long Khanh Fruit Festival not only honors distinctive agricultural products such as mangosteen, durian, rambutan, pomelo, and wood ear mushrooms but also serves as an opportunity to promote Long Khanh’s orchard-based eco-tourism. Accordingly, The Faculty of Administration International Economics will continue to research and implement effective solutions to contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality, particularly in the field of tourism.
