Are You Shy? Do You Like Economic Law but Still Wonder Whether It Suits You?.

Time truly flies. It feels like only yesterday, yet I am already a third-year student majoring in Economic Law at Lac Hong University. I suddenly recall my past self—the period after I graduated from high school—when I was very uncertain about choosing a major. I believe this is a common psychology among students after finishing high school, and I was no exception. One day, I woke up and asked myself: “Why do the people around me always have passions and confidently pursue them, while I do not?” I did not seem to have any passion at all. So what was I supposed to do at that time?

Of course, the first thing I did was to find out what my interests were. I enjoy writing and posting on social media, and I often read books. Those seemingly small interests gradually developed into a passion. I began to explore which majors suited my interests, and by chance I discovered, “Oh, so Economic Law actually suits me.” Law students also need writing skills. Speaking of this, I forgot to tell you that I am also the “quiet” type, or in other words, I am not gifted in speaking. So could I study law? If I have passion but no talent, can I still study law? Should I give up or “stubbornly” pursue my dream? Will I be unemployed after graduating with a law degree?

There are answers to all these questions. I believe that I simply needed patience to reflect on the issue: “Some factors may be innate, but many great abilities are built from passion.” The career field today is vast. Even if I may not be able to do exactly the job I want, it is still entirely possible to work in related fields.

I began researching universities that offer law programs and was most fortunate to find Lac Hong University, located in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province. Why did I not choose other universities in Ho Chi Minh City but instead choose one in Bien Hoa? Simply because I do not like the hustle, bustle, and noise of Ho Chi Minh City. What I found distinctive at Lac Hong University, which other universities do not have, is the convenience of traveling between campuses for study, as all campuses are located along the same street named Huynh Van Nghe. I chose Lac Hong because it has good facilities, modern equipment, and spacious infrastructure. Instead of renting accommodation outside, I chose to experience dormitory life from my first year. The University’s dormitory is clean, well-equipped, airy, and secure, which is suitable for new students who are still unfamiliar with the environment, like I was.

I chose Lac Hong because it has dedicated, enthusiastic lecturers who are committed to their profession. I can share any difficulties or aspirations with them, and they provide appropriate advice. As I mentioned earlier, I am not good at speaking, right? Yet I chose to join the Economic Law Club. Firstly, to develop my strength in writing. In addition, I improved my communication skills, critical thinking, and public speaking through club meetings.

Together with Van Ry (Economic Law Club), I served as MC for a thematic seminar session

I was trusted by my lecturers and fellow club members with the responsibility of hosting a seminar program. Honestly, I was very afraid at that time. I was afraid I would not do well and that I would disappoint everyone. However, thanks to their encouragement and support, I completed the task relatively well. As PhD Nguyen Van Tan – Dean of FAIE once said: “To evaluate a person, one must evaluate them through a process.” Perhaps this time I did not perform perfectly, but at least I was brave enough to try something I had never imagined I could do.

When you join FAIE, besides acquiring academic knowledge, you are always given opportunities to equip yourself with skills and overcome weaknesses through extracurricular activities, clubs, and specialized competitions such as: Mock Trial, Students with Public Speaking Skills, Legal Document Research, and more, in order to achieve your dreams.

I participated in the competition “Students with Public Speaking Skills” organized by the University
… and fortunately won a Consolation Prize in the competition.

And if you also love the field of law like I do, why hesitate? Take action now! Quickly register for admission to Lac Hong University.
