Time has passed quickly, and I am now a second-year student at Lac Hong University. Today is a beautiful morning, filled with excitement as we welcome the new academic year 2022–2023 on October 1, 2022. It is also a day that leaves me deeply moved and emotional as I receive a meaningful and valuable scholarship from supporting enterprises and benefactors.
Among the students present today, each of us has a different background and life story. Perhaps everyone carries their own struggles and hardships. In the past, my life was full and joyful. However, the unexpected outbreak of COVID-19 brought fear and loss to many families. The pandemic took away my father. During that time, I felt devastated and emotionally unstable. Gradually, I came to realize that this was a test of resilience. I had to move forward and not give up because I still have my mother and my sibling. I am still fortunate to be able to attend school and pursue my education. Compared to many others, I am already fortunate, and I must cherish that.
Throughout my academic journey at Lac Hong University, there have been many challenges. However, with clear goals and a vision for a better future, I understand that “education is the only and best path to building my future.” More importantly, the care, empathy, and encouragement from lecturers and friends have helped me realize that life’s ups and downs teach us how to become stronger and strive continuously.
I recall a quote: “Good things come to those who believe, better things come to those who are patient, and the best things come to those who never give up.” Indeed, when I faced difficulties, FAIE—especially my academic advisor—reached out to ask about my situation. The Faculty’s Dormitory Manager and PhD Nguyen Van Tan also created favorable conditions to help me find a part-time job.
Today, I am deeply grateful to the enterprises and benefactors who have generously sponsored these valuable scholarships. Although the financial value may not be large, the gift carries immense warmth and compassion. It represents encouragement, comfort, and the dedicated efforts of those who have worked hard to make such support possible.
While studying, my academic advisor once told us: “When people do not have money, they strive to earn more. But when they have enough, they want to give back—because giving is happiness.” I truly treasure this scholarship and will use it in the most meaningful way possible.
On behalf of all students present today, I sincerely express my gratitude and promise to continue striving in both my studies and personal development. I will cultivate good ethics and continuously improve myself to become a responsible citizen, contribute in my own small way to building and protecting our country, support those facing greater hardships, and live up to the trust and kindness shown by the enterprises and benefactors who have supported us.
