On the afternoon of November 18, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a meeting to honor 400 outstanding educators nationwide in 2022, marking the 40th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2022).
Dong Nai Province had six educators recognized at the event. Representing Lac Hong University (LHU) was PhD Nguyen Van Tan, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration – International Economics (FAIE). The other honorees included: Ms. Do Thi Cao Sang – Principal of Tran Hung Dao Secondary School (Bien Hoa City); Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Yen – Teacher at Trang Dai Kindergarten (Bien Hoa City); Ms. Nguyen Thi Tram – Teacher at Dong Phuong Preschool (Trang Bom District); Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang – Teacher at Binh Da Primary School (Bien Hoa City); and Ms. Doan Thi Lieu – Teacher at Tran Bien High School (Bien Hoa City).
Looking back on his journey, PhD Nguyen Van Tan has achieved numerous remarkable accomplishments in both scientific research and entrepreneurship.
In the field of scientific research, he has supervised student research projects that won two First Prizes at the “Vietnam Young Science Talent Award” organized by MOET in 2013, one Third Prize in 2016, and one Third Prize in 2017. In addition, he guided students to achieve awards in MOET’s Student Scientific Research Competition in the following years: 2007 (one Consolation Prize), 2008 (one Consolation Prize), 2009 (one Consolation Prize), 2010 (one Second Prize and one Third Prize), 2011 (one Consolation Prize), and 2016 (one Consolation Prize).
In entrepreneurship activities, notable achievements include: mentoring a project that won First Prize at the National Startup Competition Final organized by VCCI in 2006; guiding a project that won Second Prize at the National Startup Competition Final in 2017; and supervising a project that won Third Prize at the Southern Regional Startup Competition in 2017. In 2021, he served as advisor to a project that won Second Prize at the “Student Startup” Competition organized by MOET, First Prize at the CIC2021 Startup Competition, and First Prize at the Women’s Startup Idea/Project Competition in both 2020 and 2021.
It is hoped that with continued dedication and perseverance, PhD Nguyen Van Tan will keep accompanying Lac Hong University in conquering new milestones amid the trend of integration and globalization in education.
