    Which Business Model Helps Startups Succeed on E-Commerce Platforms?.

    E-commerce is an important resource that enables startups to scale up their business operations. For some startups, e-commerce is also the most effective means of accessing the market.

    The trend of online commerce and online sales in the era of digital technology 4.0 has been generating remarkable effectiveness. E-commerce business models are increasingly developing rapidly to meet all customer demands.

    Journalist Pham Hung – Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Business Forum Magazine and Secretary General of the National Startup Program in the Southern Region – delivered remarks at the opening ceremony of the training course “Optimizing an Appropriate Business Model for Doing Business on E-Commerce Channels” for Dong Nai province in particular and the Southeast region in general.

    The training course attracted a large number of startups from both within and outside the province.

    An e-commerce business model is a type of online business that enables organizations and startups to transact, purchase, and process goods through electronic networks such as the Internet. Through this model, startups can buy and sell various types of goods worldwide at any place and at any time they choose; this is a prominent feature of e-commerce.

    Understanding these obstacles faced by startups, Business Forum Magazine, in coordination with the Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association, Lac Hong University, and the Vietnam Innovative Startup Advisory Council (VSMA), organized the Training Course on Optimizing an Appropriate Business Model for Doing Business on E-Commerce Channels for Dong Nai province in particular and the Southeast region in general.

    The training course also received active support from ministries, departments, agencies, localities, and universities and colleges nationwide.

    Participants in the course include micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (with products already available and ready to be launched to the market), business owners and personnel responsible for implementing business activities on e-commerce platforms, and lecturers from universities and colleges in charge of entrepreneurship-related matters.

    As we know, e-commerce will be a prominent trend in 2023 and the following years, as the sector is benefiting significantly from breakthrough technological innovations and digital transformation efforts undertaken by most countries worldwide.

    An e-commerce startup must possess intuition, in-depth market knowledge, careful research on products, and especially on its business model in order to develop an effective business plan. To select the right e-commerce business model, startup owners must first become familiar with and thoroughly understand each type of model. Startups also need to identify an e-commerce platform that aligns with the needs of their chosen business model.

    Currently, many enterprises have engaged in selling on e-commerce platforms or conducting online sales; however, their activities remain relatively rudimentary, and they have not yet mastered how to effectively exploit and disseminate their presence across online communities. At this course, the Organizing Committee will share and practice with participants practical support tools to help them create, edit, and refine promotional videos with various effects and the most trending content.

    In addition, participants will be guided on how to access information and learn successful customer-approach strategies that their competitors are implementing. Furthermore, a currently popular tool, CHAT GPT – an excellent virtual assistant – helps participants develop content related to available keywords or topics. It can also assist in building a personal brand to enhance credibility with partners and customers, along with many other applications.

    Through the three days of training, the Organizing Committee expects to deliver all the above content to participants in the most effective and practical manner. The Organizing Committee also encourages participants not to miss any content of the course.

    At the end of the course, the Organizing Committee will hold an exchange session for participants to share and provide feedback on their impressions of the course, the lecturers, and all related content. Finally, certificates will be awarded to each participant.
