RESEARCH

Research areas

Our academic staff contribute to SDG 12 through research on sustainable consumption, green consumer behaviour, green logistics, green finance, corporate social responsibility, environmental citizenship, community-based tourism, and low-carbon materials. Their work explores practical pathways for responsible production and consumption while supporting greener business practices, innovation, and sustainable economic development.

Seminar: “Food Trends: Health, Sustainability, and Regulatory Compliance”

The Faculty of Food Science and Technology organized a seminar exploring food industry trends for 2025–2026, with a focus on health, sustainability, and regulatory compliance. Participants gained practical insights into nutrition labeling, traceability, digital labeling, quality standards, food safety, and export requirements, strengthening awareness of responsible and transparent food production.

EDUCATION

Study programs

Lac Hong University integrates SDG 12 principles across study programmes in environmental science, green energy, occupational health and safety, food technology, industrial management, and tourism. Curricula address cleaner production, waste treatment and recycling, resource management, food loss reduction, sustainable procurement, supply-chain management, environmental standards, and sustainable tourism, equipping students with knowledge and skills for responsible consumption and production.

OPERATIONS

Responsible Consumption and Procurement Policy

Lac Hong University’s Responsible Consumption and Procurement Policy establishes requirements for ethical sourcing, waste management, plastic and disposable-item reduction, and responsible purchasing. Sustainability requirements are incorporated into contracts with suppliers, service providers, and contractors, extending expectations across outsourced services and the supply chain. The Office of Material Supply and Management coordinates implementation, monitors compliance, and reports results to the Board of Rectorate for review and continuous improvement.

Hazardous Waste Management and Waste Tracking

Lac Hong University requires licensed waste contractors to manage hazardous materials and document waste generated, recycled, and sent to landfill, supporting safe disposal, regulatory compliance, transparent monitoring, and environmental reporting.

ENGAGEMENT

Promoting sustainable lifestyles

Lac Hong University promotes responsible consumption through student competitions, community campaigns, workshops, and environmental volunteering. Activities address waste sorting, recycling, plastic reduction, circular economy, green logistics, sustainable supply chains, energy conservation, and resource efficiency. By combining education, practical action, and community engagement, LHU strengthens environmental awareness and encourages more sustainable lifestyles and consumption practices.
